It's still really hot out... I feel like I'm going to dry up and evaporate. I'm tired...

The weather? It's warm, but not absurdly so. Fuyuki is known for its long winters, and our summers are never unbearable.

So it hasn't been getting hotter where you are? I'm glad. Global warming has been getting a lot worse lately here.

Global warming is something that takes place over spans of decades. 'Lately' should not present much of a change.

But really, it has! I mean, um, there's a group of people... well, not human people, but they look like it, and, um... maybe I should just start from the beginning. I'm sorry. My world's been under attack from a group of aliens who want to kill everyone and take our planet because they don't think we deserve to have it, and their first plan was to turn animals into monsters, but now they're trying to accelerate the damage we've already done to the planet, and, um... you probably don't believe me, but it's true, it's in the paper and everything.

No, no, I believe you completely. In that case, global warming having an immediate effect makes much more sense.

Well, I'm working all day for the next few days, since it's summer vacation and Shirogane-san needs us all on call after what happened today. Any time then would be good!

Oh, what happened today?

Ah! Um, well... the city was attacked again because the aliens were trying to overheat it, right? So a lot of people ran to hide inside the cafe and we had to take care of it! I mean, them.

...I see. I can imagine why that would drain a cafe's resources enough to demand more employees being there the next few days.

Right! And in case something happens again, we'll be there!

That's very noble of you, coming to work in dangerous conditions.
